J.W. Waterhouse - Circe Invidiosa

How did that "d" typo slip into the address up there?? I dunno! Can't fix it but not important anyways because what IS important is that Circe Invidiosa is my favorite Waterhouse painting! :) Click to enlarge and put your eyes on it and love it as I do.

I love many of his paintings, he's a fav, so plenty more Waterhouse to come on this blog!

Gallim Dance Company's "Snow"

I really like this piece by Gallim Dance Company. Snow was choreographed by Andrea Miller, music by Tony Gatlif. You can see some of Snow here, in their trailer.

There are two performances in this trailer, but I don't care for the first piece, "I Can See Myself In Your Pupil". "Snow" comes after. Skip ahead to about 1:58.

Gabriele Dell'Otto

Nick Fury, S.H.I.E.L.D.

That Nick Fury is the best. Gabriele Dell'Otto is one of my favorite comic artsist. Amazing!! How can the stuff be loose and tight at the same time?? I dunno, ask Gabriele! :D

First time I ever loved a Spidey painting, it was because of Gabriele Dell'Otto. His unique style made his version of Spiderman stand out from all others. Actually, I'd go as far as to say that his SpiderMan and Daredevil are my favorite versions of those characters out of any other artist I've seen.

More great stuff....

Oh yes. G.I. Joe. I LOVE this.

Secret War is one of my fav books, his work is gorgeous.

Highlander

Wolverine and Domino

Click to see full size cover, nice!

Please visit Gabriele's official site for more info and work by him! Oh, and disable your pop-up blocker cause his site's pretty cool. :D

Milena Canonero for Marie Antoinette

I love costuming. I love period pieces. My fav is 18th century. So the luscious "Marie Antoinette" is all me.

I love the approach costumer Milena Canonero took for this film. Every scene is saturated with something beautiful. This is also without question thanks to impeccable production and set design by K.K. Barrett and Véronique Melery.

I have that Vogue featuring the Pink Dress on the cover, and I think those scenes were ultimately cut from the movie. But it's hard to notice because there are SO MANY DRESSES. And I don't mean for the whole cast, I mean for Kirsten alone! Don't believe it??? Please visit the Costumer's Guide for a full list with pics!! http://www.costumersguide.com/cr_ma.shtml

I have about seven fav Marie dresses from the movie, this is one of them.

Another fav look

...and another fav!

If you're a fan of design, I highly recommend Marie Antoinette. It definitely gave me my Rococo Fix!!

Allen Williams

Also known as L.A. Williams. LOVE

Kith and Kin

This is my print. I love this print. I'm looking at it right now. It's blowing my mind. If you don't have this print, I feel a little sorry for you for missing out.

Note to collectors: Allen Williams is also an artist who has done work featuring dark-skin women of color, which is extremely awesome, because it's kinda rare in the SciFi/Fantasy circles. In addition to Kith and Kin, there's another great piece titled "Prelude" which is just beautiful. (Sadly, someone has "misplaced" my print of this. That's okay, I'll kill'em....) You should check it out!

Alexander McQueen Tribute

Bjork and Nick Knight collaborated and created the most beautiful and evocative film tribute to fashion designer Alexander McQueen. This thing, is just unbelievably gorgeous.

Whether or not you're a fan of Bjork or McQueen, if you're a fan of design, you have to see this, it's beautifully edited.

The LXD - "Moments" Trailer

One of my favorite groups, LXD has performed at major media events (the Oscars, for example) as well as having their own web series. If you're new to LXD, what you need to know is they tell their stories through dance. And that they are extremely great. :D No f/x or wires, as they say, it's all done by hard working and extraordinary dancers.

Here's a trailer, featuring clips from their first season (which is available on Netflix and Hulu!)
